How are parents involved in the education of their child?

We value parents and carers as partners in their child’s education. The class teacher is the primary point of contact for day-to-day matters and oversees classroom provision. The SENCO coordinates SEND support across the school, advises staff, and meets with families where appropriate or when additional planning is needed.

How we involve parents and carers

  • Regular contact with the class teacher, with SENCO involvement where needed to coordinate support or next steps.
  • Shared targets so parents know what their child is working towards and how to help at home.
  • Home-school communication books for key updates
  • Information on the school website and in weekly newsletters
  • Parents’ evenings and scheduled review meetings (class teacher as lead; SENCO attends when required)
  • Gathering parental views as part of the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle
  • Signposting to external support and parent groups
  • Parent workshops led by class teachers to share strategies and resources

Communication and accessibility

  • We offer a range of communication methods: in person, by phone, and by email via enquiry.stb@fioretti.co.uk
  • Interpreting or translated materials can be arranged on request
  • Meetings can be adapted to individual needs (e.g. quieter space, shorter sessions)

To discuss your child’s progress or support, please initially contact the class teacher. The SENCO will be involved as necessary to coordinate and review the provision.
